ACCEPTANCE OF OFFER TO OPERATE A FOOD COURT
AT THE GARDENS, MID VALLEY CITY LOCATED IN KUALA
LUMPUR, MALAYSIA
The Company is pleased to announce that its
wholly owned subsidiary T&W Food Junction
Sdn Bhd has accepted the offer from Mid Valley
City Gardens Sdn Bhd to operate a food court on
the third floor of The Gardens located in Kuala
Lumpur, Malayisa.
Mid Valley City, located on a 50-acre site along
the Klang River, is a one-stop destination for
shopping, dining, business and leisure catering
to the sophisticated consumers from both Kuala
Lumpur's city centre and south-western suburbs.
Served by one light rail transit system, two railway
lines and five regional road systems, Mid Valley
has become a major nodal point in KL's urban framework
and is superbly positioned to tap the on-going
growth and fast-developing infrastructure of the
region.
Mid Valley The Megamall a 4.5 million sq. ft.
shopping centre complex in Mid Valley City. Since
1999, Mid Valley has been enhanced by the opening
of the three-star Cititel Hotel, four-star Boulevard
Hotel, Northpoint Mid Valley City (a development
comprising office suites and residences) and the
offering of one million sq. ft. of office space.
The Megamall alone draws over 30 million visitors
annually. Recent additions to The Megamall are
two office towers right next to Menara IGB. On
the pipeline, a convention centre with leisure
and entertainment amenities will be added to Mid
Valley City.
The Gardens is a new addition to Mid Valley City
that contributes another six million sq. ft. of
mixed-use development, encompassing hospitality,
business, retail and leisure amenities. This is
a five-star development that comprise of a high-end
shopping centre, two luxury office towers, an
All-suite Hotel and a five-star Gardens Hotel.
The Gardens Hotel and The Gardens shopping centre
are already opened for business. The Gardens is
connected to The Megamall, and transforms Mid
Valley City into a totally self-sustaining and
vibrant city centre, and represents the most integrated
mixed-use development in Malaysia and possibly
the largest retail destination in Southeast Asia.
The Group operates a food court (approximately
17,000 sq.ft.) in The Megamall for the last 8
years since December 2000 and has been performing
very well. The acceptance of another food court
space in The Gardens with a floor area of approximately
17,000 sq ft will enhance Food Junction's presence
in Mid Valley City. The Group expects the food
court to be opened for business in the last quarter
of 2008.
None of the Directors (and their associates)
has any interest, direct or indirect, in the transaction.
Neither are the Directors aware of any substantial
shareholders having interest, direct or indirect,
in the transaction.
